Show o The amendment to the homestead law known as the Stock Raising Homestead, and under which entry-men entry-men may take up not to exceed 640 acres, has been signed by the president. presi-dent. The act provides for the entr of lands, not suitable for agricultur al purposes and not susceptiable of irrigation, chiefly valuable for graz-ing graz-ing and stock raising. Permanent improvement, in an amount equal to $1.25 per acre, must be placed upon the land within three years. Provision is also made ror additional entry of contiguous land by those who have previously entered lands of the character designated as stock raising lands. . |
