Show M W o n aJBi- Hi Michael Bleazard has been chosen student of the month for February. Mike is a junior and is Student Body Vice President, Pre-sident, He plays center on the basketball team, and is also active in other sports, Mike is a member of the Service Club and the D Club. Mike is admired and respected for his leadership and outstanding abilities. Twenty students from Duchesne High School participated partici-pated in the Division Forensic Meet held at Altamont last Wednesday, Students from Duchesne participated in Oratory, Ora-tory, Extemporaneous, and Debate. De-bate. Debate teams composed of Denneth Farnsworth and Louise Moon and Darrel Hadden and Linda Stansfield placed 3rd and 4th. The team of Marsha Fitzwater and Denice Brown were named as alternates. alter-nates. The two first place teams were from Union. Four of the debate teams will participate parti-cipate in the State Forensic Meet March 6. Tuesday of last week we went over to the new elementary elemen-tary for lunch. Along with the new lunch kitchen comes a new lunch policy. All students have been given a number, which must be shown before he or she can enter the lunch room. The Wright family presented present-ed an assembly in the form of a trampoline and tumbline demonstration at Duchesne High School Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs, Wright and their 5-year old son stressed the importance of physical fitness on the mats and the trampoline. They displayed many of their skills. The students of both the high school and the elementary enjoyed the program. The Wright family is associated 1 with the National High School Assembly program. Those attending the State FHA Convention from Duchesne High last weekend were Sally Wilkerson, Laurel Hooper, Linda Stansfield, and Marva Horrocks, advisor. Wednesday night, at the Duchesne vs. Tabiona game, the Duchesne Debutantes will march. The girls are looking forward to this event as well as the Western States Marching March-ing Tournament winch will be held at Idaho Falls, Idaho, March 26. The go-to-statc poster contest con-test will end this Friday. The class with the most posters will win $10. Posters will be judged on quality and quantity. A hunter safety course will be taught at Duchesne High School by Elden Wilken, starting March 5. Students are urged to sign-up at the office. There has been a problem WHAT'S NEW AT OUR SCHOOL. Our traveling assembly will travel to Altamont Alta-mont and Tabiona High Schools as well as be seen.in our own school. Students have been asked to prepare their talents to perform on this date. Glen's wife is the former Marvel Mar-vel Sorensen, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rust joined the family in Heber and returned to the Basin for a visit before starting their new business in Salt Lake City, Keith brought his mother, Mrs. Alva Rust, from Croydon, Utah, with him and she willspend the week visiting with her sister in Duchesne, Mrz. Nellie Land and Mrs. Alice Summers. |
