It has at last been thoroughly organized in the prospering City uf Brigham. Already there are twenty-eight active members, all fully awake to the fact that in unity is strength. It is a strong, powerful organization organ-ization and will work wonders toward to-ward assisting in the steady, permanent per-manent growth and development of this City in particular and Box Elder County in general. We shall all pull together. "Progression and advancement" will float in defiant colors from the masthead. We shall capture the wealth-giving wealth-giving and labor-furnishing whale to starboard, and as calmly but determinedly turn about and slay the grievous, man-eating shark to port. Nothing will be too big for the Chamber of Commerce to tackle. ' were permanent or nut. Messrs. A. II. Snow. Jensen and Eldridge ronlended that they were not. ! It was derided that all eligible persons who sign the roll, pay !fl cash and the balance of initiation fee under such restrictions as the Chamber of Commerce may divide right and just, he allowed to vote. The Chairman called for an expression ex-pression from the house as to whether he report on the standing committees or not. Answered with a j loud ''No." ! B. IT. Jones moved that the temporary tem-porary organization be made permanent. per-manent. Lost. The Chamber then proceeded- to vote for permanent ollieers by ballot. O. G. .Snow and E. A. Box were nominated for President. Snow carried and his election was made unanimous. E. A. Box and H. L. Steed were nominated for Vice-President. Steed carried and his election was made unanimous. L. T. Peirce and Win. Ilorsley were nominated for Treasurer. Peirce carried and his election was made unanimous. The rules were suspended, and E. B. Kirk was elected Corresponding Correspond-ing Secretary and J. Ii. Smurth-waitc, Smurth-waitc, Recording Secretary by acclamation. ac-clamation. E. A. Box then resigned the ch air to Vice-President Steed, President Snow being unavoidably absent. A vote of thanks tendered to the retiring President. Adjourned for two weeks; until May 2olh. Railroads will be induced into our county; gas. mining and manufacturing man-ufacturing capital will lie urged to come, see and invest in our superior su-perior locality ; the utilization of the immense beds of excellent brick clay and mountains of limestone, j with which this place abounds, will be strongly and persistently advo- J cated; the lruit business will be j heartily encouraged; the abandon- j ment of scrub stock for better and more profitable breeds will be encouraged; en-couraged; canals and reservoirs, to increase our water supply, will be agitated; in fact, the good things this organization can and will do for these parts arc innumerable. Solid men and efficient workers are at the helm. They are all men worthy of confidence con-fidence and are persons who command com-mand the respect and. esteem of the people. They arc men of weight and influence in-fluence and will lend much strength to this new institution. Glance over the list of officers below nnd satisfy yourself. The Brigham City Chamber of Commerce is now well under way. and The Buulku predicts for it a .career of unqualified success, which will rebound with ten-fold advantage advan-tage upon our already thriving city. Minutes of meeting held April 27th read and accepted. Dr. Wade submitted the Kail road Committee's report, which was accepted ac-cepted and the committee dis-cha dis-cha rged. Committee on canals reported (he mass meeting' a pronounced success and prospects were flattering flatter-ing for the completion. Ile-port accepted and commit tec discharged.
