Show 16 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Nancy and Thursday, February 27, 1975 Willard Reports 'Nuts to dumb DST! !' by Arlene Holden I hate the time change to daylight savings time. It makes the kids grumpy for at least a day and invariably I forget to reset the clocks and husband misses his early Sunday meeting. The whole idea of the time change is ridiculous to me. I wish that whoever thought it up had to put a sleepy child to bed who insists she should be up because the sun is still up. Or try to get the family up after going to a drive-i- n movie and not getting home until 1 or 2 in the a.m. Or watch your children start for school when the stars are still visible and the children mostly invisible. To me it is a lot like the little puppy who cut off his tail and glued it on his nose to make himself bigger. But the poor little animal only ended up looking silly. Scout Month is Scout Recognition Month. There were awarded, so look for it next week. At the annual Blue and Gold banquet for Pack 215, a spaghetti dinner was served. One question and answer brought the house down. What How to book would you give your wife? Once again, Ruth How to Harding what? When asked about being stranded on a desert island the men voted for Raquel Welch to be their companion. Lowell Lemon still feels a heifer would have made a clean sweep. But the Lemons did win the new Ford by Matchbox. A bottle of love potion pills were given to the runner up couples to smooth over any feelings between man and wife. Helen Priebe gave a beautiful and inspiring tribute to the husbands. Irene Simonson and Iva Archibald selected and wrapped the gifts for the men. His parents Glen and Arlene Kunzler have much to be proud of in that boy. Marlin Widdison is also to be commended as he is the second Eagle in his family. His parents are Glen and Maureen Widdison. Condolences to Gardner and Charlene Barlow on the death of their daughter Janet Barlow in Ogden this past week. It seems to have been a week of tragedy. The John Mount family of north Willard lost their home and all their belongings in a fire Sunday. They have been staying with neighbors. The fire happened to be just outside the city limits so the truck from Brigham City was dispatched. In that particular area the fire hydrants are too far to do much good and the truck did not have enough hose to do the job. This necessitated trucking the water in because at this time of year there is no water in ditches. In the meantime the house burned to the ground. Be sure to keep the 4th and 5th of March open next week. These two nights are when the wards in the stake perform their road shows. The young people of both wards have worked long and hard to get these productions ready to present next Tuesday and Wednesday at the regular Activity Night meeting time.
