Show JAMES T. VICKERS DIES IN MINNESOTA Word was received here this week of the death of James T. (Jim) Vickers, 73, at his home in Minneapolis, Minn., on Wednesday, Wednes-day, April 23 at 7:30 a.m. Mr. Vickers was well known here having worked as locomotive engineer en-gineer at the Bingham mine of Utah Copper Division, Kennecott Copper Corp. He first came here in April 1929. He retired July 21, 1956. He lived at Cyprus Hall while in Bingham. According to company records Mr. Vickers was born June 14, 1874, in Salida, Colo. He is survived by his widow, wid-ow, Mrs. Eleanor Olson Vickers, Minneapolis, and several nephews neph-ews and nieces. Funeral services were held at Minneapolis Saturday, Satur-day, April 26 at 10 a.m., conducted conduc-ted by the Masonic lodge. MRS. CAMILLA A. JONES Mrs. Camilla (Millie) Anderson Jones, 74, owner and manager of the Kirk Hotel in Tooele, died Monday, April 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Tooele hospital of complication after a hip injury. Mrs. Jones is a former resident of Bingham Canyon and will be remembered here as owner of the Jones Board ing House in Highland Boy many years ago. Her husband, Alma Jones, died in Bingham Canyon July 9, 1931. Funeral services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Tooele First Ward Chapel, under direction of Bishop A. A. Gillespie. Gilles-pie. Burial was in Bountiful cemetery. UDELL GEORGE Funeral services for Udell George, 68, of Sandy, who dud Friday, April 25 at 1 :55 a.m. in a local hospital of natural causes, were held Monday, April 28, at 1 p.m. in Sandy First Ward. He had worked for Kennecott Copper Cop-per Corp. for 29 years. Among those surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Olive) Prigmore, former Bingham resident, now living in Magna. Burial was in Sandy City cemetery. |
