Pioneer Day Exercises Founding of Utah to be Appropriately Remembered "Pioneer Day," the bigday of Utah, commemorating the day when the little band of one hundred and forty-three forty-three pioneers crossed the continent and settled in the Salt Lake Valley, is to be locally obsfcrved in the L. D. S. church, next Monday, tho 24th, at 7:30 p. m. when an appropriate program will be rendered. In the opera house, at the close of the ohurch program, a dance will be given. Inasmuch as there appeared to be no other public move toward celebrating the holiday and what it commemorates, the members mem-bers of the L. D. S. Church undertook to arrange a program aud they have succeeded in getting a good one. The High School was unavailable for the exercises and it became necessary to use the church for the purpose. There should be a large turnout of our citizens ou this occasion.
