Show The lews in a Nutshell Every-day Events Carefully Chronicled Mrs. C. E. Labrum of Los Angeles, is visiting her sister, Mrs, V. M. Palmer. Lou Burton, son of Contractor Enoch Burton, arrived in Milford from Nepbi this week. It is expected that the new post-office post-office building will be ready for occupancy occu-pancy within a very Bhort time. The Ladies Aid Society of the M.E. church, will meet next Thursday at 2:30 p.m., .when they will close up the business of the Society for the year. Scott Sims, late manager of the Utah, theatre, has gone to Salt Lake and H. A. Sims Jr. will have charge of the Utah. H. A. Sims1 Sr., the ownerof the local theatre 6pent a few days in Milford this week. John F. Peace of Nada was a caller at the NEWS office on Monday. Mr. Peace, who is successfully operating a "dry farm," states thatcropa around Nada, especially the alfalfa, are looking look-ing fine even better than much of the alfalfa grown on irrigated lands. On reliable authority, the NEWS is informed that the local freight yards are to be increased in size to accommodate accom-modate an additional sixty cars and that the roundhouse is to have TEN ADDITION AD-DITION AL STALLS. Also, that, within with-in a few months, the local railroad payroll will be increased about 100. Fred Rothmeier, the genial barber, returned Wednesday evening, from a two day trip to St. George, Parow an, nnd other points in that section, and is enthusiastic over the fine country to be found there. Fred has again entered en-tered into possession of ihe local shop which he recently sold to John Greenig, who has left Milford. At the semi annual election of Milford Mil-ford Lodge No. 42 I. O. O. F. held last Monday eveniug, the following officers were elected; Noble Grauc, J. A. Ingols; Vice Grand, C. J. Melntire; Secretary, Artuur Wood (re-elected); Treasurer; H. D. Harrington; Trustee, (18 month term) Alex Ross. The transfer card of Dr. H. C. Hunter was acted upon. A. G. Anderson, known all over this end of the State as "the Honey Man" was a caller at the NEWS office on Thursday. Mr. Anderson has taken the agency for the famous Metz car and with his well known enterprise, ho should make a success of hi" undertaking. under-taking. Quite a crod gathered on Main Street to witness a demonstration demonstra-tion of the new ear, The public in general will be glad to see the removal of the old post-office building, which besides interfering with traffic, is unsightly, as well. It also obscures the view of one of the most attraciive business houses iu town, the J. W. McAllister tonsorial parlor, with its shining mirrors, new equipment and commanding location, a corner which is a credit to the town. Just as the NEWS goes to press, word is received that the Home and School Organization has taken up the matter of a Fourth of July celebration for Milford, and at a meeting, a program pro-gram was outlined and a committee was put to work. Details are too lengthy for publication in this issue at this late hour.but watch the NEWS of next week for full particulars. It is going to be a fine program. The NEWS editor wants twenty-two boys between the ages of eleven and fifteen, who would like to take part in the Fourth of July parade, to meet him at four o'clock this Saturday, to hear details. Only those who are willing to give the matter earnest attention and obey orders instantly, will be selected. "We want a bugler with a bugle or cornet andja drummer with a good snare drum. What is said to be the largest single shipment of auto accessories ever received re-ceived in Utah, south of Provo, was r3ceived in Milford this week by Agent martm oi me iu uiora-tseaver Auto Company for division with the Beaver Ford Agent, Mr. Neilson. The shipment, ship-ment, which consists of every pari necessary for the Ford car, is valued at 51,500 and Messrs. Neilson and Martin are now prepared to supply any part, of a Ford that may be required. re-quired.
