Show PALOMA MINE'S SPLENDID NEWS Ore was struck on the 700-foot level of the Paloma mine, in Beaver county, during the week that ranks among the sensational disclosures on this property and puts the finishing touches on a showing of ore on the various levels in that property that has never been approached before in its history. Ore from this latest disclosure shows an average of $200 per ton across two feet of the body. This rich streak was largely composed of red oxide of copper and the values were shown in the assay as follows: 11.8 per cent lead, 13.6 ounces silver and 31. S6 per cent copper. In addition to this streak ore of good grade fills the entire face of the drift where it enters en-ters this body on the 700-foot level. According to the latest report received re-ceived from the mine by President M. P. Braffet full faces of ore have been developed at the following points: Two full faces on the 6 0 0-foot level in addition to splendid slTbwings in the stopes here, where ore is being mined; a full face in the drift from the 700-foot level of ore that goes better than 30 per cent copper; strong stringers of high grade ore in the bottom of the shaft on the 8 0 0-foot level. The operating force is working on four faces of ore and piling ore steadily on the dump preparatory to a substantial shipping program to be-Igin be-Igin just as soon as weather conditions condi-tions permit and in all likelihood to continue, from present ore developments, develop-ments, throughout the year. With every expectation that the ore will ho cut in the drift out from the Son level in a few days, the fifth face of ore will soon be exposed. While most of the work going on at the I'aloma consists of development, the mine is rapidly being put in shape for substantial continuous shipments. A recent project on the property is the starting of a cross-cut on the Son level to cut a fissure in the lime that parallels the big contact vein which the incline shaft is following down. This lime fissure is very promising ground and is about 150 feet from the contact vein. Much of the ore opened up in the property is in connection con-nection with fissures that cut across the contact vein. The contact vein .Mies between monzonite and lime. |
