Show campus Saturday. Administrators Administrat-ors and teachers of English, foreign languages, journalism and speech from schools in this end of the state attended as guests of the Division of English and Language Arts. The conference was information informa-tion and point-of-views on subjects sub-jects of common interest to teachers and administrators on both the high school and college col-lege levels. The conference chairman was Eidney Jensen, instructor in Sidney Jensen, instructor in ing and afternoon sessions the delegates were guests of the college at luncheon. Mrs. Elmer, Mr. Gogle and Mr. Myers represented Milford High at this meeting. PHYSIOLOGV REPORTS Mr. Myers has really put the Physiology class to work. Each student has to make a report and certain things that pertain to the field of science. They have been real busy this past iweek, in getting the reports in final form to read in front of the class, and also to hand in. fJ D TT As Written by THE JOURNALISM CLASS OF MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL Mrs. Mary McCulley, Instructor DANCE AFTER BEAVER GAME This Friday night after the Milford - Beaver ball game there will be a dance held in the gym and everyone is invited in-vited to attend the first one of the new year. The seniors were to have originally held the dance but changed in order to hold a semi-formal dance later in the year. will guarantee other dances, so wil lguarantee other dances, so everyone come out to "keep on dancing." PREPARE NOW! All of the students who are interested in trying out for the traveling assembly should begin preparing for the event immediately. This assembly is scheduled for about the middle of March. Judy Whittaker, vice president presi-dent of the student body, is in charge of all school assemblies. She stresses that the assembly will be a variety affair. Those wishing to try out for the assembly as-sembly should contact Judy within the next couple of weeks. JOURNALISM TEST PAPER In Journalism the students have to have a test paper every term. A test paper is a newspaper that the students have written, writ-ten, typed, and arranged the articles themselves. This term the test paper will consist of four news articles, one editorial, one human interest, in-terest, one cartoon and headline, head-line, and will be due on January Jan-uary 20th. P E BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT The 11th and 12th grade physical education class have tition to choose the contestant to represent Utah in the tile of American's Junior Miss contest at Mobile, Ala., will be held in Salt Lake on Jan. 29, Feb. 4 and 5. The judging for this contest is based on good character, intelligence, in-telligence, outstanding scholar-s scholar-s h i p, citizenship, excellent leadership, talent, poise, and personality. Any high school senior girl 16 years of age or older is able to participate in this contest. con-test. If there is anyone from Milford High. School that would like to participate in this contset contact Mrs. Hunt and fill out an application blank and if there is enough girls interested, the student body will pick the two - they want to represent the school. JUNIOR HIGH SPEECH PLAY TRYOUTS The eighth grade speech class is putting on a play entitled en-titled "The Boarding House Reach." This production will be given sometime in March. The tryouts for the play were given last week and the casting has been completed. They will start practicing in the near future under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Hunt, their speech teacher. MISSING LIBRARY BOOK A package containing a library li-brary book from the University of Kentucky was sent to Mrs. Elmer, the high school librarian. librar-ian. The book had been gone at least seven years, and had found its way back to Kentucky. Ken-tucky. The librarian from the? University of Kentucky stated that he found the book at the end of the fall semester. Mrs. Elmer was glad to receive re-ceive the book, even though it was published in 1946 and was a little out of date. LANGUAGE ARTS CONFERENCE New developments, changes and challenges in the teaching of Language Arts was the subjects sub-jects for discussion during a one-day conference on the CSU been holding a inner-class basketball bas-ketball tournament. The teams were chosen by Coach Myers so that they will be fairly equal in ability. One team is called the "Dropouts" and the captain is Doug Turner. Also on his team are Robert Smith, Glen-don Glen-don Banks, Charles Holm, Thomas Yee and Kent Gillins. The other team is called the "Delinquents" and the captain is Ricky Rose. His players include in-clude Johnny Kirk, Grant Wadsworth, Bill Long, Jimmy Willingham and Vernon Erick-son. Erick-son.
