Pulley On Dean's List At Palmer Colleg John M. Pulley, son of George Pulley of American Fork, has been named to the Dean's List of excellence in scholastic achievement achieve-ment at Palmer College of Chiropractic Chir-opractic at Davenport, Iowa. The . list, relased by Dr. H. R. Frogley, dean of academic affairs at Palmer College, includes in-cludes students who maintain grade averages of 3.5 or better out of a possible 4.0 average. Palmer College is the world's first and Ljgest chiropractic institution of higher learning, and offers a four-year academic course leading to the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.). Irene Evans, Director of Nursing Nurs-ing at the American Fork Hospital announces that a class in Nurse's Aid training will begin in September Sep-tember at the Utah Technical College in Provo. Registration will be conducted at the college. Mrs. Evans may be contacted for further information. . Cultivation is as necessary to the mind as food to the body. In a lovely ceremony, Miss Sue Zann Wing became the new Mrs. James Edward Fox. The couple exchanged nuptial vows on Friday, July 25, in the garden gar-den of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fox, parants of the groom. Mr. Fox, former bishop of the Am. Fork Fourth Ward officiated at the ceremony. The bride's parents par-ents are Mr. and Mrs. Niles M. Wing, and both families are from American Fork. Following the marriage ceremony cere-mony the newlywed couple were honored at a wedding reception recep-tion held at the Utah StateTrain-ing StateTrain-ing School lDS Branch Church. To greet her guests the bride wore a beautiful creation of English Eng-lish net with lace inserts on the bodice and a skirt of Peau d' Ange lace skirt in an a-line cage style with a peau de soir under skirt. She worea fingertip finger-tip mantilla of matching English net and lace inserts of Peau d' Ange. Scallops were featured on the skirt and on the train. She carried a bouquet of white glamelias and red rosebuds. Attending the bride were Sharon Shar-on Brown, sister of the bride, matron of honor; Christine Anderson, An-derson, maid of honor; and bridesmaid, Ann F02, sister of the groom; Susan Teuscher, Jeanne Lowe Thompson and Kris Scott. They wore gowns of de-lustered de-lustered satin with silver skirts and blue bodi'ces set off by coral sashes. The girls carried coral glamelias with rosebuds. Both Mrs. Wing, mother of the bride and Mrs. Fox, mother of the groom were dressed in floor length dresses of coral bonded crepe and each wore a corsage of coral Sweetheart roses. Best man duties were performed per-formed by Clark Fox, brother of the groom. Ushers were Dan Paxton, fraternity brother and Craig Wing, brother of the bride. Decorations for the wedding included a backdrop of silver with baskets of coral gladiolus and white and coral mums. Antique An-tique candleabra of wrought iron held tiny lights. Guests were invited to help themselves from a circular buffet table in the center of the floor. Tables were centered with tiny white carts filled with coral daisies. Karen and Joan Hales were in charge of the buffet. Serving were Heidi and Jill Hughes and Debbie and Diane DeBois. Receiving at the door were Dr. John H. Wing and Mr. and Mrs. Norman J. Hughes. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. Judith May Bringhurst and Mrs. Dianne Miner. Seated at the guest book was Jan Nicholes, a college room mate of the bride. Included in the pre-nuptial par ties in honor of the bride was a Tupperware party given by Sharon Brown, sister of the bride at her home in Bountiful; a lunch eon at the Country Club hosted by Kristine Anderson and Susan Teuscher, a Kitchen Shower by Aim Fox and Mrs. Donald Fox and a wedding breakfast at the Rodeway Inn, hosted by the par ents of the groom. Following a honeymoon trip to Aspen, Colorado, the couple will be at home at 1250 E. Doug- ' etaH t sfrA DHi Utah 4 " H - S Betty Jean Madsen Betty Jean Madsen ling in Hew York Pageint Miss Betty Jean Madsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Madsen of American Fork, left Thursday, July 17, for Palmyra, New York, to participate in the famous Hill Cumorah Pageant which is being held this week, July 28-August 2. Miss Madsen is sponsored by the Brigham Young University. Betty Jean graduated from the American Fork High School and Seminary where she was a member mem-ber of the Pep Club and a Cheer leader. Reece Murdock Mur-dock of American Fork announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Caroline Car-oline Petrea, to Douglas E. West, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. West of Pleasant Grove, Utah. The couple will be wed Thursday, Thurs-day, August 28, 1969 and will be honored with an open house reception re-ception that evening in The Manor. Man-or. The bride is a graduate of American Fork High School. She was a member of the high school band, the colorguard, Pep Club, and the National Honor Society. She was- an officer in the Girls League, a three-year graduate of the Seminary, a Sterling Scholar Schol-ar in business, and delegate to Girls State. She served as co-editor co-editor and editor of the high school newspaper, and was awarded a State Normal scholarship. schol-arship. She has attended Utah State University for the past two years. She is presently employed as a legal secretary in Provo. The groom is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, and Seminary where he was active in football and track. He served serv-ed six months basic training with the Pleasant Grove Army Reserve Re-serve unit, and has served five years in the Logan Army Reserve. Re-serve. Mr. West is a recent graduate grad-uate of Utah State University in Political Science andEconomics. He holds a secondary education teaching certificate. The groom is presently employed em-ployed at Timpanogos Cave National Na-tional Monument, and will attend graduate school at BYU this fall. Farm Bureau Sets Summer Outing Annual Utah County Farm Bureau Bur-eau summer outing is to be held Wednesday August 6 at Kelly's Grove Hobble Creek Canyon, Springville, Utah. All Utah County Coun-ty Farm Bureau members are invited to attend. Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon. Please bring your own utensils.
