Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jensen are back home after spending 10 days in Las Vegas, Nev. on a business trip. The Syracuse 3rd Ward Elders Florence R. In 1974 she was a Utah delegate to the World Conference in Peace Education in England and was named Educator of the Year for 1984 from the Utah Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. ' , A SHE WAS an active member of the Kaysville 22nd LDS Ward, serving in many of the organizations in both ward and stake. She had been stake YWMIA president. Surviving are her husband of Kaysville, three sons and one daughter, Bryan Barton, San Jose, Calif.; Justin Barton, St. George; Bruce Barton, Kaysville and Cindy Barton, Ogden. FLORENCE R. BARTON Funeral services were held a.m. in the Kaysville South LDS Stake Center for Mrs. Florence Richter Barton, 68, of 170 E. 370 S., Kaysville, who died Tuesday, Nov. 20 at her home Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11 following a lingering illness. MRS. BARTON was born Sept. 23, 1916 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Ransom Wells and Violet Preece Richter. She married Dale Layton Barton on May 24, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. SHE GRADUATED from the University of Utah in 1938, majoring in English composition. She earned her Ph.D. in English education in 1972 and taught English at Davis High School. She was a speech therapist for the Davis County School District. She was a professor at Weber State College for 24 years and had served on many WSC committees, including standards, eligibility, financial aids and others. She retired in May of 1984. SHE WAS a director of the language arts workshop for teachers ALSO SURVIVING are three sisters, Mrs. L. Dale (Beverly) Holbrook, Salt Lake City; Mrs. William E. (Lou Jean) Barlow, Bountiful; Mrs. John H. (Daisy) Morgan, Salt Lake City. Funeral was under the direction of Holbrook Funeral Mortuary in Salt Lake City. BISHOP Michael Duckworth officiated at the services. On March 2, 1968 he married Catherine Rector in Elko, Nev. HE SERVED in the U S. Navy during World War II and retired after 20 years with the Navy. Club Created On Thursday evening, Nov. 15, a new Kiwanis Club was organized in Fruit Heights City with Wood-roHeywood as president of the newly formed club. JAY ADAMS, of San Diego, Calif., Kiwanis International Representative was on hand to officially organize the new club. They were pleased with the interest shown at the organization meeting but are in need of additional members for the club. w A SECOND meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rock Loft in Fruit Heights.
