This week Ihcy wrapped up the first half of their schedule; one filled with the state's toughest tennis teams, and have yet to lose a match. To make matters more interesting, they faced their two biggest rivals in the stale, Walerford and Rowland Hall St. Mark's, and won 5-0 against both schools, each match in just two sets. The Miners look on Walerford Tuesday and easily beat them across the board. No. 2 singles player Nick Vonderahe was the only player to even see his opponent score more than two points against him, and he still won convincingly f>-2. 6-4. Next up was Rowland Hall St. Mark's, a long-time nemesis of the Park City program. According to head coach Warren Prelorius, the Winged Lions have traditionally heen one of the best teams in the state and one of the only ones that could challenge the Miners. Yet the Winged Lion's No. 2 and No. 3 singles and No. I doubles team could not even score against the powerful Miners. "Rowland Hall lost quite a few seniors last year. Its always tough when they have a young team to know how they will shape up. Waterford and Rowland Hall are pretty even, but Waterford has the edge." said Pretorius. Pretorius noted that despite the lopsided losses. Waterford and Rowland Hall used the back-to-back matches against the Miners to scout each other out.
