Show Bush emerges as winner in elem. schools George Bush would be the next President of our country if the students stu-dents at Valley View Elementary had their way. This week the youngsters voted in the "Weekly Reader" National Presidential Election Poll along with some one million students nationwide. There were 381 students who took part in the poll, according to Linda Davis. "It was a great opportunity for the children to learn about America's election process through hands on participation," partici-pation," she added. The "Weekly Reader" National Presidential Election Poll has been extremely accurate in its projections projec-tions for the last eight elections, spanning 32 years. National results will be made public by "Weekly Reader" prior to Election Day, Nov. 8. Shortly, students will once again focus on the Presidency when Field Publications' "Weekly Reader" asks them to identify goals for the nation's new leader, according to Linda Davis. The results re-sults of that survey will be shared with the President after his inauguration inau-guration on Jan. 20, 1989. |
