Show U P JO D U O HOTELS IN UTAH Railroad to Push Development Develop-ment of Playgrounds in South CEDAR CITY. Oct 14. The opening open-ing of the wonderlands of southern Utah and northern Arizona to tourist traffic through Ogden and Salt Lake are indicated by tho Union Pacific railroad Rystcm purchasing the partly constructed hotel at this place. It is announced hat the company will build hotels at the Zion national park, the north rim of the Grand can) on and at. Bryce canyon. In view of Cedar Breaks' close proximity prox-imity to Cedar City no hotel Is planned plan-ned there. In connection with plans for the proposed branch of the Los Angeles & Salt Lake railroad from Lund to Cedar, for which an application applica-tion is iow pending before the interstate inter-state commerce commission, and bus connections and hotel accommodation.-; for tourists, a party of representatives represen-tatives of the system is now going over the scenic sections. Included in the party are: W S Basinger, passenger traffic manager; D R Barr, water engineer; V W. Gentsch. Buperntendent of the dining car department; J. P. Mack, assistant engineer of the U. P. sys-tem sys-tem With the railroad representatives are George E. Godwin, chief civil en-gneer en-gneer of the national park service; R. E. Gery. chief of lands, forestry department; de-partment; E. Maco, road supervlor for forestry service; Randall L. Jones of the Cedar City Commercial club, and Chauncey Parry of the Zion National Park Transportation company, i The hotel at Cedar City, which was ' begun aa a project of the Commer- dal club of that city with some aid from Salt Lake, will now be completed by the railroad, and hotels at other 1 points will also be ready when the ! branch line from Lund to Ce-dar Ce-dar is finished. The wonderlands I of southern Utah will be more easily accessible to touri3ts next summer, if present plans are carried out.
