Show New Harmony D. V. P. Honor Dixie Pioneer of '62 Indenpendence Taylor, a Dixie Pioneer of 1862, was honored last Thursday at the semi-monthly meeting of the New Harmony Chapter of the Daughters of the Pioneers. Group singing was enjoyed, the following program given: a poem W'ritten in his honor by his granddaughter, grand-daughter, Verda T. Macfarlane, was given by Ila Taylor, another grandaughter; a piano solo, by Alta Englestead, a niece; a sketch of the life of Mr. Taylor, written by his niece, Laverna T. Englestead, Engle-stead, was read by Buleah T. Cot-tarn, Cot-tarn, his grandaughter; a poem, composed by Viola Woodbury, in his honor, was given by Josphine Taylor, a grandaughter; a vocal duet was sung by Evelyn Adair and Josephine Taylor. A talk by Mr. Taylor concluded the program. Refreshments Re-freshments were then served by Susie H. Taylor and Nora Kelsey. : |
