Show Commencement Exercises Began Thursday at A. C. The forty-eight annual com- -mencement program at Utah State Agricultural college was ushered ush-ered in Thursday evening upon conclusion of spring quarter classes, clas-ses, activities getting in full sway -at 9 p. m. with the traditional senior "Candlelight Parade." Wearing the cap and gown and each carryig a candle, the graduating grad-uating seniors well make their last tour of the campus as a group, visiting each building and spots on the campus that have beeen unusually intejresting to them during their past four years as students. In charge of the parade is Horace Gnn of Rich-fiejd, Rich-fiejd, (secretary of th senior class. Qn Saturday, Qommencement exercises will be held at 10 ajn. inthe fieldhouse followed by President Pre-sident and Mrs. Elmer G. Peterson's Peter-son's reception inthe Commons buildig and the alumni buffet luncheon on the quadrangle in the afternoon. Fredrick P. Champ, president of the college board of trustee vrill preside at commencement ceremonies, and Senator Elbert Thomas will deliver the address ad-dress to the graduates. On Sunday morning the Baca-laureate Baca-laureate -' Services will ' be held with the address being given by Elder David O. McKay of the First Presidency of th L D S church. At 1 :30 p. m. Sunday In the Logan LDS tabernacle, "St Cecilia's Mass," an oratio by Go-undd, Go-undd, will be presented under th auspices of the college Alumni association. The concert will be sung by the college's 130-voice mixed chorus under the direction direc-tion of Professor Walter Welti, head of the votal music department. |
