Show FOR SILVER IN MISSOURI. Specific Declaration Made in Adopting Adopt-ing State Platform. Kansas City, June 6. For governor Alexander M. Dockery of Gallatin. For lieutenant governor John A. Lee of St. Louis. For secretary of state S. B. Cook of Mexico. The Democrats of Missouri in state convention today adopted a platform for the coming campaign and named a full state ticket. The contests in the St. Louis and Kansas City delegations, dele-gations, which it had taken the credentials cre-dentials committee the whole of yesterday yes-terday to untangle, were decided in five minutes' time by the prompt adoption adop-tion of the committee's report. The report was a victory for the anti-police machine element. . When the resolutions committee pre-1 pre-1 sented its report there wras a fight to strike out the indorsement of Governor Stephens. It lasted for but a minute , or two and the report was adopted amid much enthusiasm. . ' The platform reaffirms allegiance to the Chicago platform of 1896. particularly particu-larly specifying 16 to 1, enthusiastically enthusiastical-ly indorses William J. Bryan: denounces de-nounces trusts and declares emphatically emphati-cally against imperialism. |
