Show Walter Scott Dickson of Salem. Mass., who died last week, a few years aero gave $50,000, payable at his death, for the establishment of a chair in Tufts college, to be known as the Walter Scott Dickson professorship of English and American literature. It is believed that this will contain many other public pub-lic benefactions. Exchange. Scarcely a week passes, In fact, hardly hard-ly a single day, but some such announcement an-nouncement as the above may be read in some part or other of the country. It is a sad commentary on our w ealthy Catholics that at their death they make no similar provision for Catholic institutions.
