Show l' OBITUARY. i , Whitney. The funeral of Horace Whitney occurred oc-curred on Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Eighteenth ward chapel. Hundreds of sorrowing friends attended to pay a last tribute of affection af-fection to the young man they loved and admired. Deep in the hearts of all was grief, deep and lasting, over his untimely death. He was a' young man who not only won friends, but had the rare faculty of keeping them. Of a generous, great hearted disposition, gentle, kindly and warmly devoted to his friends, he has left in many hearts the tenderest of memories. Brief though his life was, he had many sorrows, sor-rows, the greatest of which was the loss of his devoted mother a few years ago. Only those who knew him best realized how he grieved for her. To his bereaved father and other relatives is extended the warmest sympathy of all who knew the lovable and gifted young man. He has gone to his final home, where his tired heart will find the rest it never had in this world, and may his sleep -be sweet, is the prayer of the legion of friends who loved him. |
