Show Mr. Power's Beneft. Mr. W. H. Power takes his farewell benefit this evening, and presents an unusually attractive at-tractive bill for the occasion. The opening piece is the historical and patriotic drama "Robert Emmet," Mr. Power appearing in the title role, and delivering the celebrated defence of the patriot before Lord Xorbury. Miss Adams sustains the part of his wife, full east rendering support. It will be followed by foil exercise, between Capt. John Martin and Mr. G. Smith, who have volunteered their services for the occasion. The closing piece is the "Six Degrees of Crime," Mr. Waldron as Julio, Miss Adams as Louise and Mrs. Alice Clawson as Elomire, with a strong distribution of characters. By permission of Gen. Morrow and Adjt, McGuines, the Camp Douglas brass band will appear in full uniform and execute some choice selections of music. With this varied and attractive performance per-formance Mr. Power should have a crowded house. |
