Show OGOeN TO HAVE ANOTHER BANK Ogden is to have another bank Utah and eastern capitalists have decided de-cided that the local field presents a promising aspect for an additional banking Institution nnd a company has bpen toruiod for that purpose. Thomas I). Ryan, assistant cashier of the Plngrec National bank, will be at the head of the institution, tho officers, directors and stockholders of which have not as yet been announced an-nounced for imbllciitlon. The bank will be under state supervision super-vision and will make a specialty of trusts and savings although a general banking business will bo conducted a6 well. Quarters have been secured on Washington avenue. In rooms for-j merly occupied by the Postal Tele- j giaph company, where a suitable vault is already Installed. Elegant banking fixtures have been ordered, together with a complete lino of banking stationary. sta-tionary. It Is expected that tho 'b-ank will be ready to open its doors for business about tho first of September, Thomas D. Ryan has been in tho banking business for tho past 17 ypars and has earned a respected place among thoso moro prominently indentifled with this lino of endeavor as a careful, conservative banker and a keen judge of financial conditions. Mr. Ryan enmo to Ogden in 1893 from Rock Springs. Wyoming, whore ho was manager for a number of years of the mercantile Institution of Kinney & Co. HIa first venture In the banking business in Ogden was with the Commercial National 'bank of which ho acted as cashier for nine years. Followiojj an absence of four years In tho east on &lck leave, be returned to Ogden and was engaged as assistant ca5hler of the Pingree National bank a position which he lias held with' eminent success for four years. Mr. Ryan's resignation from the Pingree bank went into effect yesterday yester-day and he will now be occupied with matters pertaining to Ibo opening of tho new institution of which ho has been chosen the head |
