Show The assumption that the schools of a city may be damaged by a newspaper's news-paper's stand for morality and consequent con-sequent recital of a few Individual cases of wrong-doing will not hold water. That a town has a newspaper taking a llrm stand for law, order and decency Is a guarantee to parents that their sons and daughters will be protected, pro-tected, and instead of piovlng a detriment detri-ment to a city and Its schools, such a newspaper will prove the best ad-veitlsenient ad-veitlsenient for the same. Do Salt Lake papers attempt to quash all news of wrong-doing In that city and refuse to urge the maintenance of law and order? Would the schools of that city have the picss muzzled In that respect? The answer Is an emphatic "No!" In each Instance. Thinking people know the power for good of any newspaper, and fears aie moused only when mouthpieces of the public pub-lic icfuses to condemn wrong-doing or to spur oillclals to their duty. Let the people of this county, valley and state undcistand that the press of Logan Is active, wide-awake and fearless fear-less in lis denunciation of hnmoiallty, vice and a line, and the attendance at the two big schools w ill Increase i athcr than decrease. |
