Show MENDON MENTION New bishop Has Been Appointed Mendon, April 29.-The Men-don Men-don ward has been reorganized, by the choosing of Adeioert Bird as bishop and John S. vVillie and Joseph N. Sorenson as counselors. counsel-ors. Bishop Bird, the new head of the ward ecclesiastical organization, organ-ization, was born in Mendon and has grown up in our midst. He is a gentleman of splendid char-acter, char-acter, faithful and . trustworthy in all things, and has been a blessing to his parents and greatly great-ly esteemed by his friends. Counselor Coun-selor Willie has b.en in that position for some time, while Counselor - Joseph N. Sovensou succeeds George N. Sorenson, who has teen absant in Salt Lake during the p ist winter, teaching school. Tne counselors are officers of ability and intelligence, intelli-gence, and all will do a good work. It is learned that there was some opposition to Elder Bird's being app tinted but now I tht a choice has ba l made it is earnestly hoped and believed that all will, unite in aiding hiin and supporting his e'Sorts to I build, up and strenriiv- ward ,Te iiewsi-ish'ia J?-Mormon J?-Mormon BLrcL.of. this town.' Patriarch Henry Hughes, who , has been somewhat indisposed for some time past, is improved in health and his many friends hope for his speedy and complete recovery, as they miss the good cheer of his genial aad lovable personality when he is eoniiued to his room . . :f here are twd stoves m3lln--I don, owned respectively by John-H.
