Show t ANACONDA. I '..'. ' At St. Peter's and St. Paul's. Anaconda, Dec. 12. At 9 o'clock on Dec. 9. the Feast of ' the Immaculate Conception-was celebrated by High Mass in both St. Peter's and St. Paul's Catholic churches. Last" evening ' at St. Paul's church a large gathering assembled as-sembled to take part in what is known as a "promoters' reception" of the League of the Sacred Heart. In addi tion to its officers the league contains promoters who, by word and example,' govern the body of the society, which is divided into bands of thirteen members. In St. Paul's center there are forty-three forty-three promoters, of which thirty-nine are active. The original promoters are twenty-one in number, and are as follows: fol-lows: - Mrs. J. E. They were: Miss May Shea, Miss Nettie Beckers, Mrs. Lizzie , Troy, Mrs. Frank Martz, Mrs. P. Nolan, Mrs. H. W. Shabel, Mrs. John Dezell, Mrs. Charlotte Marcille, Mrs. Margaret O'Donnell, Mrs. Francis Normond, Miss Nellie O'Brien, Miss Anna Franklin, Mrs. Clara Moran, Mrs. . Anna Tescher, Mrs. G. W. Daniels, Mrs. Margaret Ford, Miss Lizzie Fitzpatrick, Miss He-, lena Gleeson, Mrs. Bessie Flynn, Miss Mary McLaughlin, Miss Nellie Casey, Miss McCaffrey. The officers of the league are: President, Presi-dent, Mrs. J. E. Young; vice president, Mrs. T. J. Flemming; secretary, Mrs, J. P. Foley; assistant secretary,! Mrs. Peter Towey; treasurer, Mrs. H. W. Shabel. Friday week the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin was organized among the young ladies of St. Peter's .Catholic congregation. A large . number who could not attend Friday have signified their intention of joining. A meeting of the organization will be held at the church this morning after Mass. On Thursday evening last the A. Ol H. enjoyed its annual ball. Good management manage-ment and good music made it one of the most enjoyable events of the season. sea-son.
