Show BIG VALLEY RANCH FIGURES IN TRANSFER Fremont Barnes, who has been operating op-erating the old I. N. Parker ranch for several years past, closed a deal last week whereby he sold his interests inter-ests to Henry McKenna, Jr. The sale is one of the largest made in the valley val-ley for many months and was engineered engi-neered by the Progress Realty & Insurance In-surance company, of Gunnison. The tract embraces 205 acres and the amount involved in the transaction transac-tion was $20,000. A transfer of practically all the stock and improvements improve-ments on the farm was made. Mr. Barnes retains the crop for the present pres-ent year. The old Parker ranch is regarded as one of the best in Gunnison valley. val-ley. About 100 acres of the tract has been slightly "water-logged," but this comes under the new drainage drain-age district and when it is drained the famous ranch will be among the foremost in the valley. Mr. McKenna McKen-na took possession the first of the week, removing his family to the farm. He has planned a number of substantial improvements in the building line and proposes to put the farm in the highest productive state. Mr. Barnes has been a resident of the valley for more than nine years, coming here from Iowa. He has gone to Burley, Idaho, and will in all probability invest in agricultural lands in the Gem state. |
