Show A quiet Wedding was( that of Mi&i Virginia Dayton Baxter and Mr. W. R. Whitcomb, J of Montreal. Canada. The young! I coi:p!e wore visiting at the home of Ihe bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Baxter. On April 5th they drove to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they were married mar-ried in the Baptist church. Mrs. Whitcomb was graduated from the Milford High school, and attended the University of Utah for three years, after which she completed a business course. She was employed in the Union Pacific depot at Milford for six years, and recently was transferred trans-ferred to the Salt Lake office. Mr. Whitcomb, a native of Montreal but more recently of Ottawa, is a former professional hockey player, and has appeared with several big league eastern teams. He also has coached professional hockey teams, and was formerly employed as a sports writer on several Canadian Cana-dian newspapers. The newlyweds left early in : the week for Canada, where they will spend the sumemr. In the fall Mr. Whitcomb will re-s re-s u m e coaching professional hockey teams. PINOCHLE was the evening's entertainment at the home of Marjorie Schramm, Wednesday, April 13th. Players included Billie Stoker, Jane Firmage, Pauline Rummler, Carol Stewart, Stew-art, Bobbie James,. Mary Grib-ble, Grib-ble, June Thompson, Lillian Mellor and Janet Kohler. Ladies receiving prizes were Bobbie, Jane and Mary. Marjorie served her noted Chinese Noodles at a late hour. MRS. S. E. PITCHFORTH and her daughter, Mrs. Paul Crosby, Cros-by, surprised Mr. Pitchforth Saturday, April 16th, with a birthday party. A very delicious three - course luncheon was served and the honored guest received lovely gifts and cards, i The remainder of the evening was spent playing ante-rummy, with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Glenn and Mr. Frank Stewart winning the prizes. Couples enjoying the pleasant evening were Mr. and Mrs. David Glenn, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Briscoe, Mr. and Mrs. Owen R. Smith, and Father Valine. : Bob Nowers of Beaver was a business visitor here last Friday. |
