Show The Art School of the Academy of Fine Arts has recently received from Mrs. Carter, the principal of the Woman's Art School of the Cooper Union in New York, a set of specimens of students' work in various departments. The academic branches taught in the Art School there are represented by outline and shaded drawings from life, being especially fine. The series of industrial drawings, in perspective and decorative design, are numerous and admirable, and calculated to admonish us of the crying need of a department of art as applied to industry in our own schools, if it is to take a place among the leading art institutions of the country. |
