Up to this time there has been no Alumni association. in connection with St. Mary's Academy, that excellent institution in-stitution of learni'ii'g. The desire- for the formation of. such a body has existed ex-isted for a long time among the graduates gradu-ates and a short time ago several of the young ladies met avad perfected what is really a temporary organization with the following yourj ladies as officers: Miss Raught, president; Miss Nora Gleasan. vice president; Miss Luce, secretary; sec-retary; Miss Kinney, treasurer. Arrangements were made for a meeting to arrant for an annual gathering, which 1 Jeliminary was held on Wednesday last. It was decided that a reunion and banquet should be held on Nov. 4 at the academy. At this meeting officers will be chosen to serve for the ensuing year. Miss Phil, lips. Miss Nora Gleason and Mrs. Dun- j yan were designated as a committee to perfect all arrangements. The twenty-sevea graduates of the institution are manifesting a great in terest in the apprcaching event and it ! is believed at lea.st twenty of them will be in attendance. The sisters, too, are displaying considerable activity, and that the association will be a guaranteed guar-anteed success from the start is generally gener-ally conceded. There will be an elaborate programme at the meeting on Nev. 4. All the young ladies are accomp.ished in every essential es-sential and the meeting will be festive intellectually as well as otherwise. The I coming of Nov. 4 is anxiously awaited by all concerneel. .' |
