Show State Club Leader And Sheep Specialist Visits Co. Our state boys and girls club leader. lead-er. D. P. Murray and sheep and wool specilist, and Alma Esulin spent several days in the county recently. re-cently. Their main mission at this time was that of visiting boys end girls club leaders and ". members. At Fairview we found two active boys clubs; one Holsteln Calf club and one sheep club with and sin members respecively. Most of the Calf Club members had their animals at one central place. A number of visits were made to the sheep club members to look over their animals. The boys were found to be very enthusiastic en-thusiastic over their club work. In general the animals were found to be in very good condition. The boys had their record books up to date-and were proud of their showing thus far. Most of the boys will bring their animals to the county fair. At Mt. Pleasant the six sheep club members were found to be enthusiastic enthusias-tic and with special keen Interest in their project. Some of the boys lhave some prize winning Sheep of the puirebred Rambouilet type, and they expect to carry off the laurels (it the county and possibly the state v'wair. The Girls clothing club at Mt. Pleasant was also doing some very good work. They also expect to make an exhibit at the County Fair. At Spring City-through misundre-islanding misundre-islanding of the time of meeting there were only a few boys present others were visited but were found to be yiut of town or at the field. The ! oys ,-enerlly are not quite as en- thusiastic as in some other communities commun-ities but the indications are that a number of boys will complete the i work and receive their club pins this fall. ' At Chester we found one of the test and most enthusiastic sugar clubs to be found anywhere in the state according to the state leader Murray. The boys were taking jteen interest in their project and proud of their several patches of beets, as well as the records they were able to show on the same. Every boy expressed himself as intending in-tending to make an exhibit at the County Fair. Meeting was held with the Girls 1 Baking Club at Centerfield. Nine iof the thirteen enrolled members ;were in attendance. Club leader, Miss Naomi Christensen expects to have an exhibit from each of her members at the county fair. The Gannison Holstein Heifer Club members were visited. A number of the boys were out of town on a trip with the boys scouts, but their animals were visited and were found to be in good condition, generally. The boys will hold an achievement day Friday, September 11. at which time all of the Holstein Heifers and calfs as well as the sheep club member's animals will be exhibited and judged on the High School grounds. Winning animals will be selected at that time to be exhibited at the County Fair. Mr. Murray expressed himself as belri' well pleased with the condition con-dition of the Boy's and girl's clubs in .the County. |
