Show TURKIC DAY SEMI-CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION AT BRIGHAM Vol NG UNIVERSITY IN OCTOBER I Comprehensive plans iot the proper prop-er observance of the semi-centennial celebration of Young University to be held in Provo October 15, 16 and 1", have been approved by the council coun-cil of deans of the university. The three day celebration is scheduled sched-uled to be the largest official celebration cele-bration ever held 'by the University :and will be attended by university representatives fro all parts of the -.United States. Alumni and friends of the school are also expected to be i in attendance by the thousands at the Golden anniversary of the found-j found-j in g of the school. Among the impressive ceremonies in connection with the celebration j'wili be the academic procession and the dedication of the new Heber J. Grant library on University Heights The various phases of the program have been outlined as follows: Thursday, October 15, -Morning: registration and welcome to visitors. Afternoon: 2 to 4 p. m., meeting in College Hall, 4:30 p. m. Historical pageant on University hill; 7 p. m. U'umni dinner, -"Alumni Night" Friday, October 16 9:30 a. m.. Academic procession in costume; 10 i m., exercises in tabernacle, (1) expressions of greetings from other institutions; (2) Address: "Brigham Young as an Expression of the Frontier Fron-tier and as a Builder of the Great West," Professor Herbert E. Bolton, .University of California. 2 to 4 p. m., Inspection and dedication dedi-cation of the Heber J. Grant library laildiii'g; 6:30 to 8:30 dinner to official of-ficial guests, delegates, board and faculty; 9 p. m., Jubilee ball. Women's Wom-en's gymnasium. Saturday, October 17, Morning: Grand historical parade in which Mt. Pleasant Alumni Club and alumni ;las:es will participate. Afternoon: football game, Young vs. Colorado College; EveniriT: football dance. |
