Show THEATRICAL STARS Rumors of Serious Trouble Between Jo Jefferson Jeffer-son W J Florence ami Mrs John Drew Special to THE HERALD Examiner Dispatch NEW YORK March 19The Morninq Journal says There are rumors of a serious seri-ous disturbance between Messrs Joseph Jefferson W J Florence and Mrs John Drew The trouble is said to havo como about in this way Mr Florence sometime some-time ago was forcibly retired from the cast by his old enemy the gout I so happened hap-pened that the company just about that time played in very queer towns and the business was anything but good Suddenly Sud-denly Mr Florence was cured and coincidentally coinci-dentally the company reached the section of country that was theatrically very good In other words it seemed as i Florences return pulled UD business On examination examina-tion it turned out to be entirely probable that Mr Jefferson in his forty weeks season sea-son would make for net profits between one hundred and sixty and two hundred thousand dollars or an average of something some-thing like five thousand dollars a week Now Mr Florence receives for his services ser-vices 1000 a week Mrs Drew has notified noti-fied Mr Jefferson that she wont act next season Like a wise man Mr Florence hardly cares for a renewal of the contract at anything like the terms ho is at present getting The trouble thus far has not reached a critical stage but is very decided de-cided and efforts are being made on every side to keep the matter as quiet as possible pos-sible |
