Speaking Speak-ing of the situation Dr. Dickson stated stat-ed today that they well pleased with the situation and that all the visiting rouncllmen were unanimous In the thought that the project was of very great Importance to the community, not only to the peoplo of tho city, but to all farmers of the country districts dis-tricts and that thero should bo no letup let-up in the work until the bedrock Is unearthed Mr Dickson says that there can be no question about getting bedrock, for the formation on each side of the channel is so pronounced and continuous contin-uous that It surely must exist in the bottom of the canyon, even though the depth may be greater than was first anticipated. He says that bedrock bed-rock on both sides of the creek bcl proper has been shown to the 100 foot leol of the proposed dam, but that there remains quite a dlstanco In tho bottom of the creek, so to speak, whore bedrock is not In sight. It was the Judgment of the vlsltlug council-men council-men however, that it is a question of denth only to find the solid rock on which the dam may bo built. There not being a quorum present at the council meeting last night the visiting councllmen could make no report re-port Of the findings It is stated that a report of the situation will be given at the council meeting next Monday night, the probability being that the matter of continuing the work will be discussed. |
