Show Sentinel B6 • WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010 Guardian of Your Community News Notices REQUEST FOR SEALED PROPOSALS CONSTRUCTION MANAGER / GENERAL CONTRACTOR BOARD OF EDUCATION OF NEBO SCHOOL DISTRICT NEW ELE M E N T A RY SCHOOL LOCATED IN SPANISH FORK, UTAH The Board of Education of Nebo School District (the "School District") is accepting Sealed Proposals from qualified Construction Manager / General Contractor companies ("Construction Manager") for the construction of a New Elementary School located at approximately 1900 East 100 South, Spanish Fork, Utah, 84660 (the "East Spanish Fork Elementary School"). This school building will be constructed from an existing K-6 design consisting of 86,949 square feet on an approximate twelve (12) acre site. The school building will consist of 81,714 square feet on the main level, and 5*235 square feet in the mechanical mezzanine. Estimated construction cost is Ten Million Nine Hundred Fifty-Four Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($10,954,000.00). Proposal Documents will be available at Nebo School District Offices, Legal Department, 350 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah, 84660, on Thursday, February 11, 2010. A deposit made payable to "Nebo School District" of S150.00 per Proposal Document package is required. The deposit will be refunded upon submission of the Sealed Proposal and return of the Proposal Document package. Sealed Proposals will be received at Nebo School District Offices, Legal Department, no later than 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Proposals must be marked attention Reed B. Park, Legal Counsel, and contain all requested information to be considered a responsive Proposal. Provide nine (9) sealed copies of the completed Proposal Documents. Proposals will be opened publicly identifying only the names of the Offeror and checking completeness of Proposal contents. A Register of Proposals shall be open lo public inspection after the contract is awarded. Proposals of the successful Offeror shall be open to public inspection for a period of ninety (90) days after selection. Proposals of Offerors who are not awarded contracts shall not be open to public inspection, except as may be required by law. All information requested in the Proposal Documents will be evaluated including an assessment by the School District as to the ability of each Construction Manager company to perform the required work in a satisfactory and timely manner and their analysis of Construction Manager fees, general conditions, costs, and other factors as specified in the Proposal Document package. The School District will select the Construction Manager on the basis of the Proposal information submitted. Interviews or discussions may or may not be conducted with responsible Offerors who submit Proposals, but Proposals may be accepted without interviews or discussions. The School District reserves the right to discuss Proposal information for clarification with responsible Construction Manager candidate companies who have submitted Proposals which are deemed responsive. Responsible Offerors shall be accorded fair and equal treatment with respect to any opportunity for discussion and revision of Proposals. A fixed limit of construction costs will be established at the contract effective date. The successful Construction Manager candidate will be "at risk" and required to provide the School District with a final GMP amount for the project at the completion of eighty-five percent (857c) the construction documents by the Architect. The GMP will include a construction contingency amount which is mutually agreed to by the School District and the Construction Manager. In addition, prior to the commencement of the Construction Phase Work, at the option of the School District, the GMP may be converted into a Lump Sum Price. The School Dis- trict reserves the right to cancel the contract during or at the conclusion of the Preconstruction Services. Upon such termination, the Construction Manager shall be compensated for Preconstruction Services performed in accordance with the contract up to the time of the contract's termination. The final buyout cost of thu project shall not exceed the GMP including contingency. This will be a provision of the Construction Manager contract with the School District for this work. The Agreement form between the Owner and the successful Construction Manager is included in the Projjosal Document package. The School District reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or to waive any formality or technicality in any Proposal, in the best interests of the School District.
