Show Keith Foster of Cedar City returned re-turned from Salt Lake City with Lawrence Eldridge and spent Wednesday evening visiting at the Eldridge home. Alden Hardy, radio technician 3c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hardy, telephoned his mother from San Diego, saying that he was now in the United States and was on his way home. Alden has been stationed sta-tioned at Pearl Harbor for the last two years. Luther Hardy returned Sunday from Salt Lake City, where he had been receiving medical care. T5 Clark W. Hutchings, son 01 Mrs. D. L. Muir of Milford, was discharged at Fort Douglas on January 5. Serving 20 months on Leyte and Luzon as a truck driver with the 1613th Engineers, Cpl. Hutchings was wounded in. action, and besides the Purple Heart and Victory medal, wears the Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon and the Good Conduct medal. Robert served with the 77th Division for 30 months as a truck driver, seeing action on Okinawa, and on duty in Hawaii. He is authorized to wear the Asiatic-Pacific, American theater and Philippines Liberation ribbons, and the Good Conduct and Victory medals. Williams, aviation machinist ma-chinist mate 2c, was discharged on January 3 from the personnel separation center at Shoemaker, Calif. I . Major and Mrs. C. M. Johnson announce the birth of a son on January 5, at Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Johnson is the former Dora Hughes of Milford, and the baby boy is the first grandchild of Mr. i and Mrs. J. M. Hughes. I I Ensign Hughes Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Williams, tela- phoned from San Francisco to tell his parents that he had landed in the U. S. Hughes has been in the service for 14 months. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hughes and sons, Vernon and Nolan, vis-ted vis-ted relatives in Preston, Idaho, during the New Year hoidays. Nolan stopped off in Logan .on the return trip, to resume his studies at the Agricultural College. Pfc. Pames L. Griffiths, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Melton, arrived ar-rived at home Thursday morning on a 35-day furlough. From here he is to report at Kearns, Kansas. James has been stationed at the t.oq Vpms armv air field, where he was In charge of. the- sheet metal inspection. Miss Shirley Steele and Miss Lee Sheppard of Salt Lake City visited over the holidays with Miss Bonnie Crane of the Horn Silver hotel. Donald W. Skinner, brother of Mrs. Lloyd F. Kohler, is visiting at the Kohler home for a few days. Mr. Skinner was recently discharged dis-charged from the army. He served overseas with General Hodges' lit army. He left Thursday for Pioche, Nev., where he has accepted employment. em-ployment. j The Lady Firemen will honor Mrs. Wilmer Aagard on Friday, January 18, with a stork shower. Mrs. Grace Sanders, mother of Mrs. Howard Lund, left for her home the early part of the week after having spent the holiday season sea-son at the Lund home. Ted and Dick Fillmore of Richfield Rich-field spent the week-end with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kesler. Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd F. Kohler and children, Madelyn and Ned, and Jean Bracken, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wilson of Cedar City last week. The Wilsons are former for-mer Milford residents. S 1c James Warren Thompson of Greenville, brother of Mrs. Dick Foerster, received his discharge at San Pedro, Calif., on December 29. James served four years in the navy and has received the Victory medal, and wears the American American defense and Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbons. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Pace of Moab were overnight visitors of their daughter, Mrs, Delia White- i sides. Mr. and Mrs. Pace are en route to California to spend j a one-month vacation. Mrs. Roy Bradshaw is confined to her bed this week with a bad case of flu. - SSgt. Leand Rogers parsed through Milford Monday evening on his way to Fort Douglas, where he is to receive his discharge. His wife, the former Miss Lena Rae Cox of Beaver, and other relatives met the train to see Leland for the first time in two years.
