Center, Orem, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Older drivers who complete t he course may be eligible for a reduction re-duction in their car iasurance premium. , Cost of the course is $ 10, which includes manuals. I Trips and tours Seniors are allowed only to sign up for themselves and a spouse or a senior-aged friend. Current Orem Senior Friendship Center memberships are required for all participants on the tours. Sign-ups for July trips will be taken in June. A Wendover Turn-around is planned for July 1 1 and costs $8. The bus leaves at 8 a.m. The bus is leaving at 3:30 p.m. on July 14 for the Llama Festival at the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork. Cost is $3. The Utah County Fair trip on July 19 will cost $1 and the bus leaves at 1 p.m. Hale Centre Theatre presents pres-ents "The Rainmaker" on July 28. Luncheons Defense driving course offered for residents NORTH COUNTY STAFF The Utah Safety Council is now offering four-hour defensive driving courses for individuals in the ProvoOrem area. Courses are held throughout through-out each month, at Utah Valley State College in Orem. Spanish defensive driving is held at a Salt Lake location. The four-hour course consists con-sists of classroom instruction and focuses on accident prevention pre-vention driving confidence, awareness of hazards and improving driving skills. Drivers may complete the course for a 50-point reduction reduc-tion from their Utah driving record, once every three years. Individuals 55 years of age and older, may qualify for insurance discounts.
