Quoting from counsel given by President Brigham Young to his people nt the October conference of 1S53, in which the Saints were told that it was binding upon them to "live the religion they profess," than praising prais-ing the attendance and spirit of the" six sessions as the most wonderful and satisfactory he had ever experienced, ex-perienced, commending the growth and increase of in tews t in tho church work, both in the United States and foreign lands, then concluding con-cluding with a solemn ml monition to "keep the Word of Wisdom,' President Honor J. Grant brought the ninety-fourth annual conference to a close at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, after-noon, the benediction being pronounced pro-nounced by Apostle Orson F. Whitney. Whit-ney. The concluding number by tho tabernacle choir was "Then Shall Your Light Break Forth," from Mendelssohn's "Elijah," given with much beauty of expression under direction of A. C. Lund, t Formal "sustaining" of all the general authorities of the church formed one fact arc of tho afternoon after-noon session. After the president had spoken of the gratification and joy that he had in noting the rapidity rapid-ity with which the church work was being conducted everywhere and had read the counsels of Brigham Young, he began : "It is proposd that we sustain Heber J. Grant as president of tho Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, and as prophet, seer and revelator. All in favor will make manifest by raising the right hand." On the instant the hands went up. "Contrary by the same sign." There was none in evidence. The pause was only momentary. Then came the next "It is proposed," and in the exact time of four and one-half minutes all of the general authorities authori-ties of the church had been uaui-mously uaui-mously sustained. Just prior to announcing the closing clos-ing anthem and thanking the choir for the "splendid music" furnished during the sessions, President Grant announced a blessing for President Coolidge, declaring that he believed him to be an honest, upright man, with the interest of tbe nation at heart and worthy to be blessed of God. He adiio'it he sought a blessing for the hoiii.- men in the cabinet of the presidentT" ' as he believed there were some honest men there, but he made no further specific designations as to which ones he had reference to.
