Show Growers Invited To Canning Meet Salt Lake county tomato and pea growers are urged to attend the sixth annual school for canning crop growers and can-ners' can-ners' fieldmen to be held in Og-den, Og-den, Jan. 28 to 29, according to County Agent V. L. Martineau The school, which will be conducted by . the state exten-tion exten-tion service in cooperation with two Utah canning association's will be the first of its kind held since 1942, becair: oi war conditions. Improvement in the quality of canning crops in order to meei peace-time competition will be stressed, according to Dr. Leonard Leo-nard H. Pollar, head of the department de-partment of vegetable crops at Utah State Agricultural College, and general chairman and director. di-rector. The Monday, Jan. 28, meetings meet-ings will deal mainly with pea production and general canning problems, while the Tuesday meetings will be concerned with tomato production. County Coun-ty Agent Martineau said. Among those participating in thp meetings will be ten faculty facul-ty members from the Utah Agricultural College, a crop grower from Moapa, Nevada, and a national representative of the American Farm Bureau federation. |
