Show New Recruiting Chief Named Capt. Carter G. Easter, newly new-ly appointed personnal and enlisting en-listing oficer at Utah district recruiting headquarters, a veteran veter-an of over 2 years of continuous continu-ous army service, formerlv was attached to the ROTC units at the University of Utah and South hih in Salt Lake. A survivor of the Jap attack on Hickham Field. Dec. 7. 1941. the captain had been instructing Japanese-American students in ROTC classes at McKinley high in Honolulu for three years. Manv of these students went directly from Capt. Easter's classes into the combat infan try which later became the back-bone of 100th and 442na combat infantry battalions comprised com-prised entirely of .lapanese-Americans- Having travelled all over -the world in army service and recently re-cently returned from several years of service in all parts of the South Pacific theater, Cant Easter expressed a desire to make Salt Lake his permanent home. Stationed at 224 S. W. Temple, he will be available to interview all young men who may have questions concerning regular army enlistment regulation;. |
