Show A BIG LAND CASE. The Title to Over 800,000 Acre of Valuable Valua-ble Land Involved. Oxfokw, Miss., June 27. Special. Arguments are being made today in the federal court in the big land case of Ford & Levy of New York against the Delta & Pine laud company, and in tho case of the same plaintiffs against tho Louisville. New Orleans & Texas railroad rail-road company. These cases have been peuding since February of last year. The suits directly involve the titles to over 200 000 acres of land situated in the Yazoo delta. The settlement of the many legal points by the supreme court of the United States where it will finally go for adjudication will be watched with great interest by all claimants of lands iii tho delta section under tax titles ti-tles of anv kind. The title of about 2300 000 "acres of delta lauds are atfected by the tpieslions involved in-volved in these suits. A large per cent of the lauds are claimed by the Delta ami Pine Land company, and by the Louisville, New Orleans & 1 exas railroad company, the defendant in these suits. The defendants claim under lax titles derived through sales to tne liquidating levee board and from the state under the acts of March 14. 18tt. and of March 2, l ord & Levy claim to derive title from the 1 111 ml States to themselves.
