Show SIMfLY A H IX l.NUKLSS. A Grizzled l'reacbrr'a Opinion of the Tolleta of Society Ladles. PiTTsarise., Pa., June 27 The United Presbyterian Ministerial association had a discussion yesterday on tho subject of "Promiscuous Dancing." Anioug those w ho participated in tho debate was the Kev. J. Jones, an elderly minister min-ister with flowing white beard and hair, who astonished tho brethren by his radical utterances. "In my opinion," ho said, switching from the subject of dancing rather suddenly, "the so-called so-called full-dress cost limes which our society so-ciety ladies of tho present day wear are nothing more than a full undress. I have never been at but ono fashionable weddiug in inv lite, and that was last" fall. That was also the lirst time 1 had ever seen these low-necked dresses on ladies, except at the play when I was n boy. They call them full dress, but 1 think they are all undress. Where is the dress There is nothing but the bare skin of the arm and the. neck exposed. I would like to know what the young ladies of the present day mean, anyhow. any-how. 1 think there is room here for the pulpit to speak out. If tho young society ladies who wish to wear low-neck low-neck dresses would go further and elevate ele-vate their skirts it wouldn't be any worse." The other members of the association wero at lirst astonished at " what tho Key. Mr. Jones said, then broke into a hearty laugh, and tho subject sub-ject was pursued no further. |
