Show Citizen, Free Press, Review - Wednesday, June 25, 1997 - Page BYU vl i offers Family Week at Museum of Art Tours, storytelling, art activities and more are free for participants during the Museum of Art Family Week at Young Brigham University July 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. "The purpose of family week is to provide families an opportunity to discover the museum together, see the exhibits and participate in the activities," said Sarah McCann, development coordinator for the Museum of Art. Three different tours will be offered throughout the week. A backpack adventure will be offered . The Courtship of Bronwen takes "California the through Impressionists" exhibition. With the use of costumes, families can experience the "150 Years of American Painting" exhibition. A s tour will also be available to let the participants behind-the-scene- the costuming transports one back to an ancient period of time when the Gods ruled with a fierce hand. The God of the Sea, King Llyr, forbids his lovely daughter, Bronwen, to marry a mortal, but like the teenagers of today, Bronwen is determined to find a way. The play's timeless message of love and beauty unfolds with the simplicity of ancient drama. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Monday at 7:30 p.m. through July 23. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for regular admission, $4 for students, seniors and children, and $20 per family. Season tickets and group rates are available. Tickets are available at the 6 for door or you may call reservations. 785-118- Auditions to be held Fri. and Sat. for Book of Mormon King Noah Auditions for "King Noah," an original play which will be performed at the Book of Mormon Theatre Festival in American Fork, will be held Friday, June 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. at BYU's Harris Fine Arts Center, room and Saturday, June 27, from noon to 2 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater at the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork. Those wishing to audition should be prepared to read. The festival will be held at the amphitheater. This is the festival's third year of performing Book of Mormon plays across the street from the Mt. Timpanogos 3, Temple. New to the Festival this year is the two day Book of Mormon Cultural Fair where people can learn more about ancient American cultures contemporary with the Book of Mormon. It will be held on Friday and Saturday; Aug. 22 and 23, from 11 a.m. until dusk. Fair sponsors are looking for booths selling Native American and Polynesian foods, games, craftscraft demonstrations, story telling, traditional dances, or anything pertaining to the Book of Mormon. Those interested in participating, having a free booth, performing, or those who have any ideas about what they might like to include in this year's festival can leave a message at 356-213- Artists Guild to meet tonight The Utah Valley Artists Guild will hold its monthly meeting on June 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Artshop, 200 E. 442 South, Springville. Members are are invited to attend. The guest artist will be Randy Morris, a water colorist, whose work is on display throughout the United States. The Art Guild would invite members to bring paintings to display and for critique after the meeting. Memberships are still available. Dues are $20 per year from January through December. Lehi Arts Council to hold auditions for Little Shop The Lehi Arts Council will hold auditions for its summer musical, Little Shop of Horrors, on Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening.
