Cleon Skousen. The new sergeant, Robert A. McMan-am- a, was appointed to the Po-lice Dept. in 1951 and has , been stationed in the Sugar House Division for the past seven months. He will serve under the division command-er, Capt. H. F. Lee. . Women's Guild Holds Annual Bazaar, Nov. 15 The Women's Guild of Christ Memorial Methodist Church has set Nov. 15 for their annual ba-zaar. This year it has been decid-ed to decorate around the theme, "The March of Missionaries." to j further the thought of the impor-tance of the Missions of the (Church. Some lovely hand made gifts will be on display at the bazaar, which begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 9. During the evening, movies and games have been planned for the younger members of the family. A steak dinner will be held, which is being prepared by the ladies. Reservations must be made for the dinner this year, and can be made by contacting Mrs. Charles Graves, 3200 South 27th East, ph. HU5-159- 3. Tickets are on sale for j $1.50 for adults and 75 cents for jthe young 'uns. Mrs. Clarence Kubicek is president of the Wo-men's Society of Christian Serv-ice, who is presenting the affair. Mrs. Paul L. Hertenstein is chair- - !man of the bazaar, Mrs. John S. iPersinger is in charge of the food, Mrs. B. Saunders Brooks in in charge of the decorations and Miss Alice Sanders is in charge of the poster work. Remember to circle the 15th in red on your calendar, and get your reservations in ear-l- y for an evening of family fun! BROWNIE PARTY The Brownies gave their moth-ers a Halloween party!! Invitations were made by the members of Brownie Troop 273, and the work of decorating the basement of Mrs. Joy Lindahl, mother of hostess Teena Lindahl, was all done by the members of the Troop. This was a mother - daughter party, in which both the, young-sters and adults came in costume, and with .nearly thirty people, it was a gala event, indeed. Refreshments, with lots of home made ice cream, cupcakes, candy and punch, was a fitting close for such a lovely time, and Mrs. Eve-lyn Mead, Troop Leader, is very proud of all the girls in her Troop. IN 60 T Around the Corner from Duffin's Ice Cream i YWCfl to Mark Special Week The week of November 10 to 16 will be observed at International World Fellowship Week for the YWCA and will be observed ar-ound the globe by like organiza-tions. As a special week of prayers for peace, the occasion will be observed in 68 countries where the YWCA is helping girls and young women to find a deeper ap-preciation of themselves and their relationships to each other. It is also a week that shows the kind of international kinship that the YWCA sponsors 365 days a year every year. The Salt Lake City association will join these countless millions in vesper services on November 10 at the First - Presbyterian Church, corner of C St. and South Temple, at 4 p.m. Assisting . with the services will be Dr. Alvin L. Morris, Rev H. L. Bingham, Rev. Stephen A. Ka-sari- s, and Right Rev. Richard S. Watson. Tea will be served after the services by the women of the First Presbyterian Church. The public is invited. The Parent-Teache- rs Association of the Canyon Rim School is sell-ing Christmas cards and gift wrap-ping at the school. The sale began Monday and will be continued through November 8. A book sale is also being conduct-ed, according to PTA officials. Room mothers are helping pub-licize the event. Jimmie Robertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Robertson, 1193 Lorraing Drive, Salt Lake City, recently completed the high speed radio operation course at the Army's Southeastern Signal School, Fort Gordon, Ga. The 23-we- ek course trained Rob-ertson to operate radio and tele-type sets at high receiving and sending rates, using-bot- h voice and Morse code transmission. Robertson entered the Army in February 1957 and was last sta-tioned at Fort Ord, Calif. He attended Granite High School. In civilian life Robertson was employed by Ace Rammill and Sons, His wife, Dorothy, lives in Augusta, Ga. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Evan Schmuhl, 2174 South 21st East on the arrival of their first child. Richard Evan Schmuhl was born Oct. 9 in the IDS Hospital, a little husky, weighing eight lbs., one ounce.
