Show Idaho's Jfew Governor. All in all no man in Idaho is better fitted for the responsible and exalted position po-sition than Hon. E. A. Stevenson, nor could any selection from abroad have given the same satisfaction. The ap pointment win oe received with joy and create immense enthusiasm all over the Territory. For the information of the few who may not know Governor Stevenson Steven-son it is proper to state that he was a pioneer and served in the legislature of California, and was among the first to arrive ar-rive in Idaho. He was President of the Council one session of our legislature; has been and is now a successful miner, and recently a farmer as well, and was Chairman of the Democratic Territorial Central Committee at the time of his appointment. He is a gentleman of fine presence, thorough education and splendid executive abilities, with keen sense of honor and ample dignity to command com-mand the respect due his position a warm friend generous neighbor, and first-class first-class citizen. In a word, a magnificent representative of the people with whom he has so long labored to bring the country coun-try to its present stage of development. One of the master intellects of the Territory, Terri-tory, Col. Stevenson will prove the most impartial, the ablest, and the only grand Governor Idaho ever had. He, of all others, has the fore of character the backbone sufficient to discharge the duties or his office without fear or favor Idaho Democrat. " |
