Taft, for some time with Godbe, Pitts & Co., left for the East to-day by the Rio Grande. Mr. C. L. Haines went east to-day with a "double" purpose in view, if signs don't fail these latter days. Mr. Fred Auerbach, one of Zion's representative repre-sentative merchants, returned from New York yesterday. O. A. White and wife, after visiting friends in the city for some days, returned to their home at Rocks Springs "to-day. Magnus Olsen and wife, of Juab, were first-class passengers to-day for New York City, en route to Stockholm, Sweden. - Miss Martha Neff, who for the last three months has been rusticating and visiting in the country, returned to the metropolis this morning. I Mr. W. E. Smith, for some time with the Union Pacific at Ogden, succeeds N. D. j Hodge as city passenger agent for the U. P. in Salt Lake. Mr. J. M. Beatie responded to a telepram Wednesday evening to repair at once to the Plesant Valley coal mines and take charge of the company's store. Mrs. Jake Heiss, who has been lying dangerously dan-gerously ill for a long time, is reported no better and her present condition is quite alarming. Dr. Fowler is attending. |
