Show Unemployment Funds Coming Summit County will receive $26,500 under the new Department Depart-ment of Labor allocation of funds to areas with 6 per cent unemployment, according to Cong. Gunn McKay. Utah's total is $338,700, the Utah Representative said. The funds are a part of a $200 million allocation going into areas where there has been at least 6 per cent unemployment unemploy-ment for three recent consecutive con-secutive months. It will place jobless persons in public service serv-ice occupations, the jobs to be established in city, county and local institutions rather than in state agencies. The process is expected to be completed by the end of October, McKay said. The funds are part of the one billion dollar Public Employment Program signed into law in early August of 1971. |
