the key hole by the desert rat As the reports come in from the red shirt shirts s invasion the casualty list grows both for the deers and the hunters the boys are bringing in a lot of nice fat buckskins and from all reports there is plenty of them this year most of the hunters cas have been from gun shot aou ads and heart attacks which goes to show that it takes a strong heart to hunt either vanty varity of deers dears sure foot and I 1 did not venture out in the hills very far this week just camped out so sr th of town so we could come in ei every ery day and find out what was going on besides it was not safe to get out when all th is shooting is going on as we do not have any red head gear or shirts we did not find out much by staying around town as everybody with a gun went hunting however a lot of strangers came in and some 0 of f them were very entertaining I 1 noticed in the paper where there was six candidates running for city councilman it would be hard to pick out the ones to vote for as all of the ones I 1 have met are real nice fellows I 1 have decided to campaign for the ones that will devote their efforts to making green river a better place to live for all the people by working for the following things I 1 passing and enforcing ardi naces that will benefit all the people instead of a favored few so that the town can grow without undue re strict sanctions ions 2 clean the town up AND I 1 MEAN CLEAN by making a contract to have garbage hauled at least once per week meek require approved cover ed garbage cano can do some thing a bout improving the city dump by having the garbage covered or burn ed so that flies and rodents won t have a breeding place all you citi zens should go out and take a look at that dump right now and see what you think it is not very f far ar from town in fact to close for the condition it is in 3 keep the weeds in the city streets and on city property cut at all times 4 see that vacant lot owners keep their lots cleaned if not have them cleaned and add it to property tax other towns do this so why not he rea this method will get resul results 5 put up street signs and house numbers so that new citizens can find their way around and direct people to their homes A little civic pride displayed ca uld make green river into one of the prettiest towns in utah it will be interesting to see what hat the newly elected city Council mens attitude is in this regard the new school lacase will soon be ready to use and what would be nicer than to have a good high se hool band green river used to have a good school band with pretty gr een and white nhat be came of if there is plenty of mus ical talent here so why not use it ita everybody loves a parade and a ba nd besides it gives a school a high moral to have a good band it is al most a crime for a new school like this one here not to have a band if suits and other equipment are nee ded there is ways of getting them business firms and other residents of price are furnishing new band coats for the carbon college Is price any better than green river it can be done here I 1 would like to hear bear a band concert in the city park every week or so next summer hope the hunters don t use those kegs and copper vessels down in the henry or keg canyon for tar get practice tor for when this uranium boom busts a fellow may have to start making his own refreshments sure amazing what all a fellow can see and think about that should be done around town so guess we had better get back to camp before some of the citizens run us out so adios
