| Show faculty borun by lee P F gledhill the high school student body off acers are sponsoring a contest to obtain another school song for green river high school right here let me hasten to make an explanation the idea is NOT to REPLACE our old school song but to add a new one the old song were we re loyal to you G R high is a mighty good song and we intend to keep it it will be used for such occasions as basket ball games as a pep song and as a marching song what we need is a different type of song all together we need a song to be used for solemn occasions such as corn com men cement formal assemblies etc many schools have two songs our old school song we will call our off acial school song the new one will be known as the alma mater song by the way there s a cash prize for the song which is accepted the contest is open to everyone come on alumni we need reed your help another se school hool holiday is in the offing the board of education has decided to declare nov 11 veteran veterans s day as a school holiday this year since this day falls on the opening of pheasant season students and teachers will be able to hunt gh the day however the holiday was not provided for in the ordinal school ie le the day of school will have to be made up the board of education has designated satur day november ath as a day of sc se hool to substitute for the holiday on november lith dates to reserve monday oct children s halloween carnival thur aday nov loth parents night at school friday nov lath annual high school play we are happy to report that the lost keys from the new building have been recovered two appeared mysteriously in the waste paper bas bets at the old school the other app eared cared just as mysteriously on the floor of the boy s shower room we are happy to have the keys back but are unhappy and embarrassed by the incident |
