The Lobo's edged the Cougars for first place with a 182.70. Air Force, a Division II club with only five gymnasts, scored 108.00. The Cougars were without junior Gina Hansen, out with a hyperex-tende- d elbow and freshman Wendy Hutchings, who is suffering from back spasms. BYU set a new school record in team vault with a 46.05, breaking their old mark of 36.00 set earlier this year. Junior Melissa Friesen and freshman Bev Snell scored personal best 37.0s in marking the first time a Cougar gymnast has gone over 37 since Jan Shelly's school record 37.20 set in 1981. Friesen and Snell's scores tied New them for second in Mexico's Antoinette Gonzales was first with a 37.30. "It was over all a good team Rodmeet," said Cougar ney Hill. "We had good consistency from Bev, Melissa, and Sonja Lied-e- r in the and one great individual high in each event." On vault the best performance was sophomore Lori Cragun who hit a nearly perfect handspring front. Bars had several outstanding performances with Lieder garnering a 9.25 and Friesen and Snell both getting 9.20. tri-me- h Wm TIMPVIEW 167): Ross 4 00 8 lundohl 2 0 14 Imdstrom 7 9 9 Boman 4 0 B Rawle 11 2 3 24 Bo.ley 5 3 7 13, Fmlayso'i 0 0 0 0 Lewis 0 ' 2 I Young 0 O0 0 Dayton 0 SnonOOOO Totals 27 13 23 67 fJo.nesOOOO BEN IOMONO (77): Millet 9 7 9 25 luros 44 7 Child 2 4 E...n 15 8 7 Mendoto 9 2 5 20 Stw.orl 5 2 2 14: 0 Wilson 0 0 0 0 Totals 26 20 29 77 20 13 13 21 67 Ttmpvi.w Ben Lomond 77 20 22 15 20 3 o' goals tucos Fouls Timpl7 BL21 Fouled out Child CARBON (481: Cook 6 5 6 18 Miller 2 0 0 4 Johnson 3 2 4 8 Revas 5 2 2 17 Cowoer 2 0 0 6.
