Marwick. Mitchell & Co. LUXURY AUTOMOBILES B H ber, a Montgomery County, Md., official had already started shifting securities from stocks to investments with higher current income but with some potential for growth. That kind of strategy is the key to pay investing when your take-hom- e drops and you're looking for another predictable source of income. The longer the lead time before you make your job switch and the more comfortable your cash cushion, the more risk you can afford to take with your investments. Younger people who are fairly certain their income will go back up can afford to take more risks, says Changing Times. If your lead time is short, your income isn't likely to climb quickly or if you'll need ready access to your cash, you may want to adopt a more cautious approach. In that case, Ron Miller, first of Shearson Lehman Brothers in Atlanta, suggests keeping the bulk of your assets in safe havens such as money-markfunds and bank certificates of deposit. Investments with potential for fluctuations in principal aren't worth the risk if you need to put your hands on the cash within, say, a year, says Miller. If your pay is going to be reduced enough to put you into a significantly lower tax bracket, then it might be a good time to cash in on strategies you've been using all along. Some options: cashing in EE savings bonds, selling appreciated securities, even making an early withdrawal from your IRA. You'd have to pay a 10 percent tax penalty on an early IRA distribution, but you might owe very little income tax, if any. on the money. e One strategy for enhancing your income, possibly without increasing your tax bill by much, is simply to draw down your savings. That may seem sacrilegious, but sometimes it's worth it. schedules meet with USX head - one-wee- Charles of Orem, has added a new design service to their Week has transformed it into the k largest and most successful recruiting campaign ever conducted by a real estate sales organization," said Paul Fager-greRegional Director of Century 21 of The Rocky Mountains, d Inc.
