Show UTAH'S ENTRIES I IN FAIRS EYED; t Indications Wednesday were that Utah's sntries in the New York 1 world fair and ths Golden Gats sxpositlon, both In 183, would in- : elude miniature models of the stats's scenic attractions and working models of one of Its outstanding mining operations. The state advisory committee on these exhlblta virtually agreed on the type of entries after hearing suggestions snd recommendations from groups throughout the state. O. K. McShane. chairman of the committee, pointed out. however, that the group was without authority author-ity to order any exhibits constructed, construct-ed, as its duty was to make recommendations recom-mendations to a permanent committee com-mittee to be appointed by Governor Henry H. Blood. The permanent committee will assist the stste Industrial In-dustrial commission, of which Mr. McShane is a member, In preparation prepara-tion of the exhibits. The advisory committee virtually agreed that the exhibits should Include In-clude scale models of the L. D. S temple in Salt Lake City and of national parks In southern Utah. Donald T. Lund and H. Frederick Davis, representing the Salt Lake symphonic choir, comprising 40 mixed voices, urged that the choir be sent to the fair and exposition to give concerts. Others making suggsstlons were N. J. Cotterell, Salt Lake Advertising Advertis-ing club; H. Wells Culmer, Salt Lake City artist: T. L. Clawson. Ogden commercial artist, and Mercer Mer-cer Chrlstsnsen of Bountiful. |
